Imaginative and a tad quirky

“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where–” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
“–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation.
“Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

~ Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland ~

It all started when I decided to quit my full time job in accounting and tax. And then I started baking. cooking. baking. making soap. baking. drawing. baking. photography. scrapbooking. baking.candle making. baking. I still do accounting, but probably not as fanatical as 40-60 hours a week like I used to.

I started spotting an obvious trend (I’m sure you have as well) … it was a no-brainer to follow this instinct.  My creative appetite became whetted again. I love creating!

Now I balance the “right mix” of accounting and baking and this new found direction is quite exciting for me. For most of my work life, I have followed the conventional path in climbing the corporate ladder. Full time employment was great, but so is feeding and nurturing my soul.

I live in the wonderful city of Perth in Western Australia, with my loyal tester (my Hubby), and my faithful pooch (he’s not allowed to test, for his own protection, you understand).  But he does supervise in between naps.

When I was in full time work, I started feeling sluggish and putting on weight. It was all too easy to have take-away food and cafe food.  In 2009, I thought that enough was enough.  And so I started a gradual journey of self-discovery about good quality foods, and how they affect our bodies. Mine in particular. I started cooking from home. And this is where I discovered my new-found passion for baking. (We all have to indulge from time to time).  I may not have lost a huge amount of weight (I might have snuck some kilos on instead), but I’m happier and healthier, and that is how I want to live my life in a way that does not involve a daily monotonous grind.

So fast forward to 2012 and here is where I find myself.  So how can you find me?

Just spreading the love to y’all.
